STUDENT MINISTRY DIRECTOR
Stephen Atherton is originally from Prescott valley Arizona, where he graduated High School, then went on to join the Military and serve in the Air force for four years. After this, Stephen went on to be an Operations Manager for a security company, play semi-pro football and was an Automation lead in the oil field until God allowed him to pursue his dream job of working with students in ministry. Stephen has been working with the student ministry at WCC since 2012 and has been working full time as the Youth director since 2016, In the midst of this he graduated from Pastors Institute in 2018. Stephen’s desire is to see students come to a sold out relationship with Jesus all while building relationships, to share the good news and introduce students to a loving community there to help guide and support them.
Stephen and his wife Jen have been married since 2009 and have been at WCC since 2012. In the time being at WCC Stephen and Jen have had two beautiful children Malachi and Amarah. Stephen’s other interests include playing drums, Cross Fit, Christian Metal music, Skateboarding and most of all getting to share the good news of Jesus with his students and the world around him.
